| | | | Visual Arts and Crafts is the study of visual non-literary forms of creative expression for artistic and aesthetic purposes. Skills learned include: using techniques to harmonise line, colour, design and form, developing ideas for artistic presentation, selecting artistic media, methods and materials, drawing, painting, sculpting and using other techniques to produce artistic objects, using techniques which harmonise light, colour and subjects, adjusting camera angles, settings and subjects to achieve the desired effects, using appropriate equipment and techniques to produce high quality photographs. The main purpose of this field of study is to develop an understanding of the history, development and theory of the visual arts, and the artistic and technical aspects of the creation and production of art and craft and photographs. It also involves developing the ability to design, create and exhibit an original piece of work either individually or with others.
