Law and Justice is the study of the principles and procedures for formally maintaining social order. Skills learned include: advising individuals, groups, organisations and governments on legal and constitutional matters, preparing legal cases by investigating circumstances and researching relevant statutes and precedents, drawing up documents relating to court matters and contracts, and representing clients in general legal matters. The main purpose of this field of study is to develop an understanding of the historical development of legal practice and its role as a framework for the development and maintenance of social order, the investigation and prosecution of criminal offences. It also involves developing an ability to assess and evaluate the reliability of evidence, analyse legal issues and express legal arguments in speech and writing.
